Redevelopment & Capital Works

March 2020

Redbank Road temporary night closure

The need to replace sections of asphalt along part of Redbank Road will impact access to the Westmead Hospital loading docks and Carpark 14 (the oval car park) this weekend.

Access to the loading docks will be maintained during the day but will be unavailable on:

  • Saturday, 4 April - Loading dock inaccessible from 5.00 pm - 5.00 am;

  • Sunday, 5 April - Loading dock inaccessible from 5.00 pm - 5.00 am;

  • Monday, 6 April - Road line marking with one lane of traffic from 7.00 pm -12.00 pm.

The loading dock will be re-opened at 5.00 am on Monday, 6 April. These times have been selected as they are low-activity periods and will have a minimal impact on services and staff. Emergency vehicles and services will have access to the dock 24/7 via an alternate entry point.

Carpark 14 will remain open, however, it will be inaccessible from Redbank Road during the work hours noted above. Staff will need to access it via Dragonfly Drive.

Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times along Redbank Road. There will be traffic controllers and signage to ensure the safety of staff, patients, carers and visitors.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during these works. If you have any queries, please contact the Westmead Redevelopment Team on 1800 990 296.
