ED simulations in CASB
18/11/20
An integral part of preparation for the opening of the Central Acute Services Building (CASB) early 2021 is staff training to ensure we’re ready for our new surroundings.
Multi-disciplinary simulations over the past few weeks involving trauma, imaging, emergency medicine and anaesthesia have helped test workflows, equipment and the new hospital’s spaces.
In the most recent scenario, a patient was flown in, transported by the critical lift from the 14th-level helipad to the Emergency Department, before being resuscitated and taken to theatre.
These important simulations help provide the best-quality care for patients in our new facility.
