2020 Quality Awards submissions deadline extended

Planning for the 2020 Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) Quality Awards is underway.

Our staff red carpet gala event will have a different look and feel this year given the current COVID-19 restrictions.

We are planning for a digital event that will incorporate all the glitz and glam using video technology to showcase our quality projects.

WSLHD clinical governance director Heather Doolan encourages staff to use this time to work on their submissions to be part of the ceremony.

“We have extended the timeframe for staff to send us their submissions to 30 June,” Heather said.

“While the eight categories remain the same, we expect to receive projects which reflect the 2019 bushfires and COVID-19 projects.”

For further information about the submission process speak with your Quality Manager, or contact Natalie Fester-Lloyd.

Entries to your quality manager is 30 June.

Health Service Blood Drive started in May

From 1 May, Western Sydney Local Health District are taking part in the Health Services Blood Drive.

In the past, it’s been a tough competition with Lifeblood Teams across the country rising to the challenge. But this year? Things are different. We’re working towards a single goal.

When we work together, everyone wins.

We know the health sector has been feeling the pressure during these complicated times (and we’re really grateful), but the need for blood never stops. Some patients need it to get through cancer or difficult pregnancy. Others have medical conditions which means they need blood products regularly to stay healthy.

As a Lifeblood Champion, you’re ready to unite.

  • To help, encourage your Team members (and others) to give blood or plasma between 1 May and 31 July, and their donations will automatically be added to your Team’s tally and to the overall drive total.

  • Spread the word with materials on the blood drive webpage and let your Team know that every time they donate, they’re giving someone another chance to live the life they love.

Remember: united, we give and united, we save lives.
