Join Dry July and raise funds for Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre in Westmead

25/6/20

How often do you have a chance to create change by not doing something? But how about raising money to save someone’s life by quitting alcohol for just a month?

Westmead Hospital is urging people to refrain from drinking alcohol for the Dry July campaign and to raise funds for the Crown Princess Mary Cancer Centre (CPMCC) in Westmead.

Here are a few ways the human body can benefit from abstaining from alcohol: improved mental health, weight loss and hydration, healthier liver and quality sleep!

Encourage your family and friends to be healthy in July and support Westmead Hospital. To sign-up and support the CPMCC click here.

End of financial year information: transition from Payment Summaries to Single Touch Payroll

25/6/20

Effective from the end of the financial year 2019/2020, Payment Summaries will no longer be issued to NSW Health employees as NSW Health has moved to Single Touch Payroll (STP) as per the Australian Taxation Office (ATO).

This also means that 2019/2020 Payment Summaries will not be available via StaffLink Manager Self Service (MSS) or Employee Self Service (ESS).

Single Touch Payroll is an Australian Government initiative that changes the way employers are required to report employee tax and superannuation information to the ATO.

The change means that tax and superannuation information will be sent to the ATO each time pay is processed, rather than once a year as per previous years.

  • There is no change to the way employees are paid.

  • Each time employees are paid, the year-to-date salary and wage information will be reported to the ATO and updated in ATO online services.

  • Employees will be able to view and keep track of YTD information in ATO online services via a myGov account.

  • At the end of the 2019/2020 financial year, payment summary information will be available in myGov and will be called an ‘Income Statement’.

  • Employees can also access their income statement through their registered tax agent or by contacting the ATO to receive a copy.

Fitness Passport update

25/6/20

Dear Members,

We know many of you are keen to start or resume training at your favourite gyms and pools. We look forward to making that happen too.

Due to the limited number of people allowed in a facility under current restrictions, Fitness Passport has decided to stay closed until further lifting of COVID-19 restrictions has occurred. We anticipate that this won’t be more than a few weeks away.

We know this news will disappoint some members however we are working to ensure that FP resumes as soon as is practical, with fewer restrictions, for a smooth and enjoyable member experience.

In the interim, remember that some of your local gyms and pools will be open, albeit with restrictions outside of their control. If you would like to train in the meantime please contact your preferred facility to see if they can offer you casual access or a short term pass. We know some gyms are offering this.

Up until now we haven’t been accepting new member applications to Fitness Passport, with restrictions easing we are now accepting applications. If you would like to sign up we can process this so you are ready to attend your favourite facility when we re-open. Please note you will not be charged for your membership until then.

Until then, stay fit and healthy. We look forward to seeing you training again soon and thank you for your patience.

Kind regards,

FP Team
