HealtheNet Pathology program

12/12/19

Today, the Children’s Hospital Westmead Pathology (CHWP) went live. We are now sharing Pathology Test Results for SCHN Children’s Hospital Westmead patients with HealtheNet and the My Health Record.

This is the final laboratory within the scope of the HealtheNet Pathology program, and so concludes a successful collaboration between eHealth NSW, NSW Health Pathology and other public Pathology providers across the state to ensure that our clinicians, patients and other healthcare providers have access to pathology test results to support clinical decision making.

Pathology Test Results from CHWP can now be accessed by NSW Health Clinicians in the same way they access results from the four NSW Health Pathology networks and SydPath, which is via the Pathology tab within the HealtheNet Clinical Portal, accessible via NSW Health eMR systems.

Healthcare providers outside of NSW Health can access this information via a patient’s My Health Record (where they have one). In addition to Pathology Test Results, the HealtheNet platform also shares electronic Discharge Summaries, Discharge Dispense Medications, and Diagnostic Imaging Reports with the national My Health Record.

The HealtheNet team, including the entire Integrated Care Portfolio, would like to thank the CHW Pathology and SCHN-CHW teams and the eHealth NSW Service Delivery teams. We greatly appreciate everyone for allocating their time and resources to support our project activities and ultimately the successful completion of the overall HealtheNet Pathology rollout.

If you require any further information or helpful resources, please visit the Integrated Care Portfolio Hub or contact the HealtheNet Pathology team via HealtheNet@health.nsw.gov.au.
