GoShare: Every patient has the right to obtain right information

An innovative online patient education platform, GoShare Healthcare is now available for Western Sydney Local health District clinicians to send accurate, up-to-date and tailored educational resources, to patients via SMS or email.

Kirandeep Kaur, a Western Sydney consumer says she found GoShare to be user friendly and convenient to use. Having access to useful health information such as information about reading food labels when shopping at the supermarket was much more practical to use from my mobile than carrying lots of paper. The information has supported me in making better lifestyle choices.

With a library of hundreds of videos across more than 100 health topics, and thousands of information sheets and resources developed in partnership with peak bodies and experts, GoShare can be used to supplement face-to-face or telehealth consultations.

“It’s great to have access to a library of resources that we can easily share with our patients to their mobile or email. Patients just click the link sent to them and they can immediately view the resource,” says Rhea Balmaceda who works as a Health Coach for the Integrated Chronic Care Program.

Heena Puri, Self-Management Support Clinical Nurse Consultant is leading the roll out of GoShare across the district. “This is an exciting new chapter in revolutionising healthcare and how we partner with our consumers to influence their self-care behaviours,” said Heena.
